The President Barack Obama administration announced plans early Wednesday to broaden the eligibility requirements of a great housing saving initiative. The alteration allows borrowers with mortgage loans worth at least 125 percent of the properties value to refinance into a more affordable mortgage loan through the Making Home Affordable Plan. The earlier Making Home Affordable Program only allowed borrowers with loan values of 105 percent or less. The Making Homes Affordable refinaning and/or loan modification plan is part of the President Barack Obama’s multi pronged attack on the nations greatest housing fall since the Great Depression. Coupled with efforts to alter struggling homeowners mortgages, the administration views its Making Home Affordable initiative can reach up to 9 million American homeowners.
